Biography

My company, Riedel Marketing Group (RMG) has been in business since 1991 and is a trusted provider of authoritative market and consumer intelligence on the U.S. home goods and housewares industries. RMG is the only market research company that specializes exclusively in the housewares industry.

I have more than 20 years of experience in the housewares industry. My knowledge and understanding encompasses market dynamics, channels of distribution, housewares consumers, and trends impacting the industry, and marketing issues in the housewares industry.
I also have extensive experience with the design of online surveys and the interpretation of survey results. I have conducted more than 50 online surveys since 2006.

I manage a proprietary consumer panel of people who pick up on new home-related trends and embrace new home goods much sooner than the rest of the U.S. population. As such, these influential consumers are the bellwether for predicting changes in the behaviors, habits and practices, and attitudes of mainstream Americans.

I’ve had the honor of speaking at the International Home and Housewares Show and at Cookware Manufacturers Association Annual Meetings numerous times as well as other industry meeting and conferences.

I have become the “go to” person for many reporters and editors and as a result, am often quoted in newspapers and magazines including the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Wall Street Journal.

Prior to founding Riedel Marketing Group in 1991, I worked at General Mills where I helped jump-start Wheaties cereal sales; at RJR Nabisco where I increased Grey Poupon sales; and at Norelco where I revitalized the air cleaner business.

I have a BA in Home Economics from the University of Washington and an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Interests

I am passionate about the home goods and housewares industry and about marketing. I am also passionate about my family, my two dogs and one cat, and yoga.
